L KX - Linux Knowledge eXchange system

This is the place where you may deposit and search for information regarding Linux stuff. You may also ask questions - and people are encouraged to answer these questions. You may also post something on Linux KX and then tell the SED staff that you have submitted something here. Mitteilungen und Antworten sind natuerlich auch in deutscher Sprache willkommen! Umlaute sollten zum besseren Wiederfinden der Woerter in der Form ae, oe, ue geschrieben werden.

The intention is, to collect as much internal information as possible... and to never forget it!


Search Linux KX for:

(ignore upper/lower case)
Supported search functions:   Search Linux KX-database for

- a single word: enter   pikett
- several words: enter   pikett mail plot
- words beginning with 'plot': enter   plot*
- words ending with 'wall': enter   *wall
- words containing 'domain': enter   *domain*
Using above rules, the boolean OR function is applied, i.e. all
documents are shown, which contain one of your search strings
- if the word 'pikett' must be in the result: enter   +pikett
- if the string 'domain' must be in the result: enter   +*domain*
- if the string 'plot' must not be in the result: enter   -*plot*

How to deposit an entry

Simply send an e-mail to   lkx (at) seismo.ifg.ethz.ch   with a meaningful text in the subject-field - your message will then automatically be added to Linux KX within a few minutes.

How to remove an entry from Linux KX

Send an e-mail to   lkx (at) seismo.ifg.ethz.ch   with the subject   remove-entry   and with the EntryID of the entry as text. Example:
